The Kaitiaki Collective is a non-profit, democratic, nature-based “un-school”, rooted in indigenous wisdom. Our aim is the world we WANT to live in, and thus we focus on practical, nature-based skills, indigenous wisdom and knowledge, organic gardening, and simple living. We explore alternatives to consumerism, capitalism and carbon-dependency. Above all, we refuse to abuse our children by sending them to the pathological institution of school. Using sliding scale fees, we are affordable for everyone, rich or poor, and will not turn away anyone for lack of money.
Our guiding principle is to live within the Earth’s limits and with respect for everything around us. We seek alternatives to consumerism, capitalism, technology and “progress”. Only living in such a way will any climate justice be possible.
